The ambiguity surrounding the ‘RB’ in the team’s name – whether it stands for team owner Red Bull or ‘Racing Bulls’ – added to the complexity, with the racingbulls.com domain redirecting to visacashapprb.
However, recent developments indicate that the company behind the team, formerly known as Alpha Tauri, has officially been renamed ‘Racing Bulls S.p.A’. This change is now reflected in the FIA’s updated 2024 F1 entry list, where ‘Racing Bulls S.p.A’ appears as the ‘company name’, while the ‘chassis name’ is listed as ‘RB’.
The renaming has sparked a debate on its potential adoption by TV commentators and the media. “It will be interesting to see whether Visa Cash App RB, which takes some getting used to, will catch on among TV commentators and written media,” Gruner commented, highlighting the challenge of integrating the new name into regular F1 discourse.
