F1’s loss, electric mobility’s gain: Binotto’s new role

Mattia Binotto, the former Ferrari team boss whose departure from Formula 1 marked the end of a significant chapter at Maranello, has embarked on a new journey in the automotive industry, but outside the F1 realm. After a year away from the sport, Binotto has joined Texa, an Italian car components manufacturer – with Binotto to specialise in the electrification of high-performance sports cars. Texa, located near Venice, will benefit from Binotto’s extensive engineering expertise and leadership, with La Gazzetta dello Sport reporting his role in coordinating the design, production, and supply of crucial components.

Elevated to managing director and appointed to Texa’s board of directors, Binotto is poised to influence the future of automotive technology significantly. His move reflects a broader trend of automotive talents venturing into the rapidly evolving field of electric mobility. Binotto himself highlighted the appeal of Texa’s ambitious project, stating, “Beyond the competitive experience that I have always had in my life, what attracted me to Texa was the strategic audacity of its project to build Italian excellence in the most advanced technologies of new mobility.”
