Ferrari in blue?: The $100m deal behind it revealed

Ferrari’s unexpected switch to a blue livery for the upcoming Miami Grand Prix now seems more strategically aligned given recent developments. The iconic team has entered into a lucrative title sponsorship agreement with HP, a leading American tech company known for its blue logo. This partnership has transformed Ferrari into Scuderia Ferrari HP, and the cars will soon sport prominent blue HP logos alongside their classic red paint.

This move coincides with Lewis Hamilton’s anticipated transfer from Mercedes to Ferrari starting in 2025. Notably, Mercedes is currently backed by HPE (Hewlett Packard Enterprise), a firm closely related to HP.

The deal between Ferrari and HP is reportedly valued at an impressive 100 million euros, as per estimates by Italy’s Corriere della Sera.

In other sponsorship news, the entry of Visa into Formula 1 with Red Bull and its associated junior team has led Mastercard to seek similar opportunities within the sport. According to Sport Business, McLaren is considered the leading candidate to secure a sponsorship arrangement with Mastercard, over three other “top teams.”
