EXCLUSIVE: Permane on Racing Bulls TP Role

Alan Permane has stepped into the spotlight as the new team principal for Racing Bulls, sharing his thoughts on the challenge in an exclusive chat with F1.com. Fresh off his appointment, the veteran engineer didn’t hold back on what lies ahead for the Red Bull sister squad in 2025.

Permane, who joined the team after a stint away from the paddock, highlighted the blend of youth and experience in the driver lineup. With Yuki Tsunoda anchoring one seat and newcomer Isack Hadjar stepping up from Formula 2, he sees real potential. “We’ve got a solid mix,” Permane said, pointing to Tsunoda’s speed and Hadjar’s raw talent as key assets amid the grid’s shake-ups.

He touched on the team’s goals, stressing the need to climb the midfield ranks. Racing Bulls aims to build on last year’s progress, targeting consistent points in a season packed with 24 races, starting in Australia. Permane noted the impact of new regulations, like the push for sustainable fuels, as opportunities to innovate.

On his leadership style, Permane kept it practical: focus on data-driven decisions and fostering a tight-knit crew. He praised the Faenza base’s energy and hinted at tweaks to strategy, especially in qualifying battles against rivals like Haas and Williams.

As the season kicks off, Permane’s arrival signals a fresh chapter for Racing Bulls, with eyes on disrupting the order right from Melbourne.
