Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak delivered a standout performance in Formula 3 qualifying at Spa-Francorchamps, clinching pole for Sunday’s feature race with a lap of 2:04.567 for AIX Racing. The Thai driver edged out Trident’s Leonardo Fornaroli by just 0.048 seconds, setting up a tight battle at the front.
Brad Benavides, from Campos Racing, lines up on pole for Saturday’s sprint race after qualifying 12th overall, thanks to the reverse-grid format for the top 12. His session time put him ahead of key rivals like Rodin Motorsport’s Callum Voisin in 13th.
Rain threatened early on, but the track stayed dry enough for quick laps. Championship leader Gabriele Mini of Prema ended up fourth, keeping his title hopes alive, while Hitech’s Luke Browning took third.
AIX Racing celebrated their first F3 pole, a milestone for the team in their debut season. Inthraphuvasak said track evolution helped his final push. Fornaroli, frustrated by traffic, still praised his Trident crew.
Further back, Van Amersfoort’s Sophia Floersch impressed in 10th, earning a strong sprint start. Penalties loom for minor infringements, but none affected the top spots.
