Hamilton, Leclerc Deliver Verdicts on Ferrari Upgrade

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc have shared their thoughts on Ferrari’s latest car tweaks ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps.

Ferrari rolled out changes at Imola earlier this season, but they triggered unwanted bouncing in fast turns, forcing the team to switch back to the old setup for Silverstone. Now, for Spa’s demanding layout, they’re trying a fresh package to chase better pace.

Leclerc, who’s been testing the updates, sounded upbeat but realistic. “We’ve put in the work to fix the issues,” he said. “It should help us close the gap, but we’ll see how it performs on track. Spa’s mix of speeds will be a real test.”

Hamilton, set to team up with Leclerc at Ferrari next year after his Mercedes stint ends, got an early taste of the SF-24 during a Pirelli tyre session at the circuit. He praised its raw speed but flagged areas for improvement. “It’s a solid machine with plenty of potential,” Hamilton noted. “The balance needs dialing in for those quick sections, but overall, it’s impressive. Can’t wait to drive it properly in 2025.”

With Red Bull and McLaren setting the pace, Ferrari hopes these adjustments will spark a turnaround at a track where tyre wear and weather often shake things up. Qualifying kicks off soon, and both drivers are eager to see the results.
