Hamilton’s Solo Path in ‘Very Difficult’ F1 World

Lewis Hamilton has opened up about his decision to remain single and without children, setting him apart from many of his Formula 1 peers who balance family life with the demands of racing.

The seven-time world champion, now in his debut season with Ferrari after leaving Mercedes, explained that he picked a distinct route early on. “I chose a different path,” Hamilton said ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix. “It’s a very difficult world we live in, and I wanted to focus fully on my career.”

At 40, Hamilton remains one of the grid’s elder statesmen, yet he’s laser-focused on adding to his record haul of titles. He joined Ferrari this year alongside Charles Leclerc, aiming to end the team’s championship drought that stretches back to 2008.

While drivers like Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez juggle fatherhood with their Red Bull duties, and others such as Lando Norris at McLaren keep their personal lives low-key, Hamilton stressed his commitment to racing above all. “I’ve seen how tough it is for others to manage everything,” he noted. “For me, it’s about giving 100% to the track.”

Despite a challenging start at Ferrari, with no podiums yet in 2025, Hamilton eyes a bigger prize: helping shape the team’s 2026 car under new regulations. His ultimate dream? Clinching an eighth crown in red overalls. “Winning with Ferrari would be the pinnacle,” he added.
