Oscar Piastri remains upbeat about his 2025 Formula 1 campaign, even after a string of setbacks that have tested McLaren’s push against Red Bull. Speaking ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix opener, the Australian driver admitted the early-season glitches—like the qualifying mishap in testing—have been frustrating, but he’s not letting them derail his focus.
“I’ve hit a few bumps lately, no doubt,” Piastri said. “But overall, I’m in a solid spot. The car’s pace is there, and we’re learning fast from these moments. It’s about building momentum now.”
With McLaren teammate Lando Norris already grabbing headlines for his consistent points hauls, Piastri stressed the team’s unity as key. “Lando and I are on the same page—pushing each other without the drama. That’s what will get us challenging Max [Verstappen] and the rest up front.”
As the season ramps up with back-to-back races in the Middle East, Piastri eyes a quick turnaround. His sights are set on Melbourne’s home race next month, where he aims to convert that positivity into podium finishes.
