The future of Ferrari looks bright, with a well-informed insider hinting at a significant announcement regarding the team’s driver lineup post-2024.

Leo Turrini, a respected Formula 1 journalist with close ties to the Italian squad, shared with Sky Italia that fans of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz can expect good news. He stated, “There will be official confirmation soon,” indicating that Ferrari is set to extend its relationship with these two prominent drivers.

Leclerc and Sainz, referred to affectionately as “Carletto and Carlitos” by Turrini, are seen as central figures in Ferrari’s quest for championship glory. “Carletto and Carlitos will remain at Ferrari beyond 2024 to try to win the world championship dressed in red,” Turrini added, underscoring the team’s confidence in their abilities and commitment.

As the 2023 season draws to a close with the final race in Abu Dhabi, the team, under the leadership of Frederic Vasseur, Ferrari’s team boss since 2023, is gearing up for one last push. Vasseur, as reported by Ansa news agency, shared, “We have reached the end of this season and it is time for all of us to make one last effort before some well-deserved rest.”

In related news, Alpine, the Renault-owned team, announced the signing of Mick Schumacher for the world endurance championship next year. However, Toto Wolff, Mercedes’ principal, clarified Schumacher’s role with Mercedes. Speaking to Bild, he confirmed, “One thing is clear: we are not losing Mick,” indicating that Schumacher will maintain his position as Mercedes’ reserve driver in 2024.
