The Formula 1 community is ablaze with speculation surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s alleged visits to Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters. It follows the bombshell revelation that the 39-year-old will be exiting his Mercedes contract prematurely, donning red overalls for the 2025 season, setting the stage for a nail-biting final chapter in silver.
“Obviously Lewis was no longer satisfied, and as a result it will now be a difficult task for him in 2024,” former F1 driver Ralf Schumacher disclosed to Sky Deutschland. The looming question remains: Can George Russell step up to the plate, or will team dynamics crumble under pressure?
Hamilton, however, remains enigmatic about his ties to Ferrari. When pressed in Bahrain about his alleged visits to Maranello, he simply stated: “I haven’t.” Yet, whispers persist, fueled by Enzo Ferrari’s son, Piero, who dropped a bombshell revelation to Ferrari insider Leo Turrini.
“Perhaps not everyone knows this, but Lewis Hamilton has always been susceptible to the glamour of Ferrari,” Piero divulged to El Mundo Deportivo. “He is our client! He has visited the factory more than once.”
The plot thickens as Piero hints at a deeper connection between Hamilton and Ferrari, particularly highlighting the Briton’s penchant for the LaFerrari supercar. Could this be a sign of things to come?
“We had just renewed the contract with (Sebastian) Vettel and things were going well. I remember Lewis made a joke – ‘If you wait 12 months, I’ll come’,” Piero reminisced.
