Why Verstappen won’t be joining F1’s tattoo club

Max Verstappen, the Red Bull Formula 1 star, recently shared his perspective on the trend of tattoos within the F1 driver lineup, revealing that he currently has no plans to get inked. His stance comes amid a backdrop where several of his peers, including the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso, Daniel Ricciardo, Lance Stroll, and Kevin Magnussen, are known for their various tattoos.

In a conversation with Algemeen Dagblad, when probed about the possibility of joining the tattooed ranks of Formula 1, Verstappen, aged 26, expressed a clear lack of interest in the idea. “Never say never, but at the moment it doesn’t mean much to me,” Verstappen stated, underscoring his current disinterest in tattoos. Additionally, he mentioned finding inspiration in the story of Cristiano Ronaldo, the renowned footballer who has opted against tattoos to facilitate his commitment to regular blood and bone marrow donations.

This choice by Ronaldo, motivated by the desire to maintain his eligibility for these life-saving donations without the limitations tattoos might impose, appears to resonate with Verstappen’s own values or preferences regarding body art.
